MANDATE: Partner with the CFO and current Head of HR of a boutique Investment Bank to find a new Head of HR, as the incumbent prepares for retirement. This standalone role will lead and execute HR strategy while being hands-on in managing the function, covering areas such as talent, compensation, employee relations, and HR projects. With a global remit, the ideal candidate will have strong financial services experience, the ability to work autonomously, and the skills to partner closely with senior leadership to drive business-aligned people initiatives.

SOLUTION:   Shelley partnered with the CFO to understand the firm’s mission, values, and future vision for HR. After agreeing on an exclusive partnership and aligning on the approach, she met with the retiring Head of HR to discuss timelines and the ideal candidate profile. Following a thorough search, they shortlisted six candidates, met in person to review them, and proceeded with interviews for four. Ultimately, one candidate was successfully offered and accepted the role.

QUOTE: I partnered with Shelley to recruit my replacement when I retired last year, after 40+ years in financial services as Head of HR.  She listened carefully to the brief that we gave her, asked insightful questions and in her first shortlist we immediately recognised our preferred candidate, to whom indeed we offered the position. This was a niche role and Shelley made the whole recruitment process effortless, by really understanding the brief and most importantly the culture of our firm.   I heartily recommend Shelley to any firm seeking to hire into the HR space.
